The 888poker 8-team program is back - and bigger and better than ever - for 2018.

888poker brings a stellar promotion to the 2018 World Series of Poker through their global team of ambassadors. By earning points in tournaments on 888poker.com, players have the chance to play in the $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event with one of six teams represented by an 888poker ambassadors and their respective country.

Each team is represented by a captain, a wingman, and a qualifier. In 2017, Joao Sousa Monteiro from Team Brazil emerged victorious by virtue of his 583rd place worth $22,449. Monteiro qualified via a $30 satellite and by doing so, earned himself a free seat to the 2018 Main Event.

The wingmen will be selected before the contest ends on June 4.

This year, all players will have the opportunity to earn points for their respective teams with the highest scoring team all earning a free 2019 WSOP Main Event seat.

There were five teams in 2017 and the free Main Event seat went to the qualifier that went the deepest. The growth of the 888poker brand over the last year has meant for another country being added o the 8-team competition. The newest addition to the challenge this year is team Spain, which brings WSOP Europe Main Event champion Marti Roca as captain.

Teams earn points each day in the World Series of Poker Main Event for advancing along with a potential chip lead bonus. Points are awarded starting with at least one player advancing from each day. The scoring system scales from 10 points on Day 1 all the way up to 100 at the final table. If a team member wins the Main Event, they are awarded 100 bonus points.
