The PokerStars PA Winter Series is 30 events over eight days with $675,000 guaranteed.

Just six weeks after the conclusion of the first full-scale tournament series in Pennsylvania online poker history, the Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker, PokerStars PA is ready to do it again.

The PokerStars PA Winter Series runs January 25 – February 1 and features 30 events and $675,000 in total guarantees with buy-ins ranging from $30 up to $500. PACOOP had more events (50) and $1.225 million in guaranteed prize pools.

The Winter Series gets underway on Saturday, January 25 with three events:

  • $50 The Warm-Up ($20,000 Guarantee)
  • $100 The Anthem ($30,000 Guarantee)
  • $200 The Coin Toss Turbo PKO ($15,000 Guarantee)

The following day, Sunday, January 26, is the busiest day of the eight-day series. Six events are on the schedule that day with $164,000 in total guarantees. The highlight is the Blitz Sunday Special Special Edition with a $50,000 guarantee and a $200 buy-in.

The Main Event

Players who played in the PACOOP Main Event will find the Winter Series Main Event to be a familiar setting. Just like PACOOP, the Winter Series Main Event has a $300 and the guarantee is $100,000. The Main Event begins on February 1 at 5 pm ET.

The PACOOP Main Event guarantee was initially announced as $100,000 before PokerStars increased the guarantees on a number of events, including the Main, based on strong turnout in the opening week of play.

The PACOOP Main Event attracted 640 players for a $179,2000 prize pool. Ryan ‘Gyea0’ Gerber took it down for $31,335.64.

Main Event Satellites Abound

Players looking to get into the Winter Series Main event on a budget will be happy to know that PokerStars is already running satellites. Buy-ins range from $20 to $50.

On February 1, a $50 buy-in Mega Satellite is guaranteeing 20 seats to the Main Event. Players can re-enter up to two times during late registration.

Second Chance Freerolls

Players who bust out of any Winter Series event before making the money will find a consolation prize in their account: a Second Chance All-in Shootout Freeroll ticket. The ticket can be used on any of the Second Chance All-in Shootout Freerolls that run daily from January 26 – February 1.
