Patrick Leonard grabbed another WCOOP title on Friday (PokerStars photo/Neil Stoddart)

Patrick ‘pads1161’ Leonard saw former #1-ranked players Shaun Deeb, ‘Eisenhower1’ and Dan Kelly winning 2016 World Championship of Online Poker titles and decided he wanted to join the club. He did just that on Friday afternoon, taking down Event #65, $700 Ultra Deep NLHE for $162,054.98. Leonard’s win was one of three WCOOP events that wrapped up on Friday

Leonard beat out Thomas ‘sandman201’ Tyler heads-up for the title. This is the second time in two years that Leonard, who was #1 on PocketFives two weeks in 2014, has managed to score a WCOOP victory. In 2015 he won Event #17, $7000 Six Max NLHE for a shade over $108,000.

The final table included Ken Smaron and Noah Vaillancourt as well as ‘RigasDinamo’, a player who had once beaten Leonard heads-up in a Sunday Major.

Leonard’s win was the biggest of the three on Friday, but just barely. Sean ‘Nolez7’ Winter beat out 983 entries to take down Event #66 – $2,100 Thursday Thrill Special Edition, for $161,275.53, but he also managed to earn $67,657.70 in bounties over the course of the two-day event. His final bounty came from runner-up ‘NEED100KFAST’, who walked away without a WCOOP win but $118,214.30 in winnings plus another $50,221.66 in bounties. Other notables at the final table included former WPT Copenhagen winner Emil ‘Emilohlsson’ Ohlsson, former November Niner Antoine Saout, and 2016 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Michael Tureniec.

The final event to wrap up on Friday was the $1,050 Seven Card Stud Championship. ‘__akun333___’ topped the 102 entries to win $28,104.51 and the second WCOOP title of his career. Romania-based grinder ‘profit76’ finished second for $21,767.17. Another former #1-ranked player on PocketFives,Calvin ‘cal42688’ Anderson, finished fifth for a little over $10,000.
