PGT Mixed Games Series
The 2024 PGT Mixed Games Series is sure to be popular with 10 massive events taking place in Las Vegas.

The PokerGO Tour’s Mixed Games Series is fast approaching, and with play kicking off on February 29, some legends of the game are taking to the felt. You can buy a piece of the action from your own home with the help of the PokerStake staking platform, so we’ve taken a deep dive into exactly who is on offer and how you can maximize your potential profit.

When Does the PGT Mixed Games Series Take Place?

The PGT Mixed Games Series actually comes on the back of another mixed game event series in Las Vegas, with CardPlayer Lifestyle’s Mixed Game Festival VII running into the PGT series. Taking place at the Resorts World complex, the action concludes with an NAPT Prize Package being up for grabs so it may well be worth honing those mixed games in the build-up to the PGT series as well as following the drama online.

The PGT Mixed Games Series begins on February 28, with the first event being the $5,100-entry H.O.R.S.E. and a total of 10 events in the series. The $25,000 buy-in 10-Game Championship is the ‘Main Event’ of the series, but events such as the $10,200 8-Game Event #4 and $10,200 Dealer’s Choice Event #7 are going to be hugely popular with everyone in attendance.

Chainsaw Ready to Rip it Up

Allen ‘Chainsaw’ Kessler is one of the most attractive prospects at the PGT Mixed Games Series, and we’re not talking about his sparkling dinner conversation. Chainsaw is pure value and selling at no markup at all to multiple events. Selling to all of Events 1-7 inclusive at present, you’ll need to be quick if you want to invest in Event #1, the $5,100 H.O.R.S.E. event. That’s because Kessler – who made the money in the 2023 WSOP Main Event – has already sold over 35% of the 40% he’s put up for sale in the opening event.

Long known for his impressive ability to make the money places, ‘Chainsaw’ is less of a risk as other players for that very reason. He’ll be a big favorite to make the money in plenty of the events on offer, so we’d suggest investing in all of them and giving yourself a sweat across the collected events rather than plumping for one or another.

Also selling at a value markup is Jason Lipiner, who is available at 1.05 in #1, #2, #6 and #10. As well as getting on the H.O.R.S.E. with Chainsaw, Lipiner will be playing deuce-to-seven draw, 8-Game and Triple Draw, so his familiarity with the different formats is clear and he finished 17th, 19th and 46th in mixed game events at last year’s World Series of Poker.

Pescatori Pushing for Glory

Max Pescatori will be another player to watch in the coming week at the PGT Mixed Games Series. ‘The Italian Pirate’ of poker isn’t just an effervescent character and four-time WSOP bracelet winner. Pescatori is a mixed game specialist and will be a huge danger to his opponents in the 8-Game and H.O.R.S.E. events, both of which see him selling 40% of the buy-ins at a markup of 1.08 and 1.10, with over 20% of each package sold already.

Pescatori has won over $4.8 million in live tournaments in his time at the felt and came 37th in a $3,000-entry H.O.R.S.E. WSOP bracelet event last summer, with an even more recent 10th-place finish in the €2,000 WSOPE 8-Game Mix bracelet event in Rozvadov as part of the WSOP Europe last November.
